Georgetown Recreation Center

The Parks and Recreation Department operates a year-round recreation center that is open to all citizens.  The Georgetown Recreation Center is located at 1003 North Austin Avenue.  To contact the GRC please call (512) 930-3596.

Monday – Friday 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Sunday CLOSED

Recreation Center Features

• Fitness Room with cardio machines, weight machines and a Cardio Theater TV system
• Two full-size gymnasiums for basketball and volleyball
• Two racquetball courts
• Two multi-purpose rooms available for instructional and wellness programs
• Locker rooms with showers
• Indoor pool with instructional areas, play features and 8 lap lanes
• Outdoor seasonal splash pool with fun play features for young children
• Special events room that can be rented for parties
• Indoor walking track
• Aerobics Room and Spinning instruction area
• Babysitting Room for ages 1 to 7 with games, toys, and attached playscape
• Teen/Senior Center with billiards, ping pong, a Wii, an XBox and a PlayStation, board and card games, lockers
• Computer Room
• Outdoor courtyard with a pavilion, basketball court and sand volleyball pit
• Study Room

Recreation Center Age Limits (pool rules may differ)

Age 1 – 7: Allowed general admittance to the Recreation Center under direct supervision of a parent / guardian age 18+, but never allowed in the weight room.  This age group may stay in the Sitter Service while their parent uses the facility.

Age 8 – 11:  Must be accompanied by a parent / guardian age 18+ in the facility.  This age group may stay in the gymnasiums and the Teen / Senior Center while their parent uses the facility.  Not allowed in weight room or Group Fitness classes.  Allowed use of the racquetball courts with a parent.

Age 12 and up:  Allowed to be in the facility without a parent.  Allowed access to most areas (not weight room), and Group Fitness classes (not Spinning).  Allowed use of the racquetball courts with a parent.

Age 14 and up:  May participate in all Group Fitness classes.  Permitted in weight room only under the direct supervision of a parent.  Allowed use of the racquetball courts with a parent.

Age 15 and up: Full facility access.
